I’m banned from travel to the US and which is something that impairs my functions because the United Nations headquarters based in in New York. I was supposed to present my last report in New York and I delivered it from South Africa because I cannot travel. But not just that I am financially censored which means that I I cannot all assets bank accounts I had in the US. Then I will explain why in the US uh everything has been shut down. Um my I have an American daughter. I have an American daughter who’s paying the price of having her mom telling the truth about crimes committed in another place. I am the first UN person to receive this in 80 years and it’s absolutely abominable, you know. So, it’s very it’s very personal because being sanctioned by the United States means that I cannot open a bank account anywhere. I cannot have a a credit card. I cannot function. I cannot be receive payment. I cannot make payments. My um health insurance has been suspended. Um even rooms, hotel rooms booked in my names by someone else get cancelled because I’m in Europe. There is a deeper meaning of it. An extra layer of absurdity because I’ve also have deep ties to the United States. I live in Washington DC. I gave birth to my first child who’s an American citizen and she risked to incur into to commit felony by give offering me a present by receiving um like a breakfast from me because the the the the consequences of the sanctions are penalties up to one million dollar and jailing up to 20 years.
